Down on the Farm Dayz!

08_Baby_Animal_Day

On April 22, April 29, and May 6, 2009, Melanie Birchmore of the Thornwell Agriculture Education Center partnered with Laura Blind of the Joe R. Adair Outdoor Education Center to host Down on the Farm Dayz on the front portion of Thornwell’s farm.08_Baby_Animal_Day308_Baby_Animal_Day2

During each of these events, Laurens County elementary school children have an opportunity to learned about the daily activities on a working farm and the important roles that animals play in the process.

There were also hayrides and a gardening class offered to attendees. All proceeds from these events go to the care and upkeep of the animals on the farm.
