A free Building Families program workshop will be held at the Richland School District Two Family Interventions Services office on Friday, April 21 from 5 to 7pm. The office is located at 6831 Brookfield Road in Columbia.

The workshop is entitled “Who’s in Charge? Promoting Personal Power and Avoiding Power Struggles.”

Personal power is all about inner strength and the ability to get our needs met in appropriate ways. But we are not born with this innate ability, and it’s up to parents to create an environment where children learn to use their personal power in a positive way.

If you’re near Columbia, come meet parents in your area while you learn about techniques for reducing power struggles and positive parenting strategies to help your child learn healthy personal power.

Dinner, drinks, and snacks will be provided. We’ll also provide movies and activities for students of all ages.

If you’re interested in attending the workshop, please email Ebony Langhorne or call her at 803-462-7087.
