How to Donate Goods

Thornwell children and families always welcome your donations of goods or gifts in-kind like backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items, and other products.


Our needs vary depending on location. Please see our suggestions below:

Christmas Wish List

Christmas is right around the corner. Here is this year’s Wish List of items needed throughout the holiday season.

We currently need these items for the children who live at our Clinton, SC location:

  • High capacity washers and dryers (prefer Whirlpool Roper brand)
  • Countertop kitchen appliances (blender, food processor, standing mixer)
  • Small luggage for light travel (between 21” and 25”)
  • Heavy duty pots and pans
  • Twin mattresses and box springs
  • Girls’ and Boy’s bikes
    • Medium (20″ and adult 26″)
    • Preferably coaster bikes
  • Hair dryers and flat irons
  • Place settings for 12, silverware

We always need these:

  • Mattress pads for twin beds (“Protect a Bed” brand)
  • Dish towels and pot holders
  • Bath towels and wash cloths
  • Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairspray
  • Children’s underwear
  • Shoes
  • Note cards (for thank you notes)
  • Postage stamps
  • Non-perishable snack items
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Batteries, size AA, C, and D
  • Pillows
  • Laundry baskets
  • Twin sheet sets
  • Paper goods

Gift Cards

Family specialists surprise families with gift cards when they graduate. A Subway gift card may not seem like much, but it offers a family a chance to celebrate 12 to 15 weeks of improving as a family. Gift cards to casual restaurants like Subway, Pizza Hut, or Chick Fil A or gift cards for local activities like bowling or going to the movies are always welcome.

We often have projects for which we seek professional recommendations. If you or someone from your church is willing to donate a consultation for HVAC, interior design, or electrical work, please let us know.
