Thornwell Receives Grant to Continue Helping Children and Families in Southeast Ga.

St. Marys United Methodist Church Shows Commitment to Thornwell's Building Families Program

Thornwell received a $75,000 grant from the St. Marys United Methodist Church Foundation to expand the Building Families program to Southeast Georgia. The grant represents the second year of a three-year, $175,000 commitment to the Building Families program.

“This grant is a Godsend for families in Camden County, Ga. and allows us to continue to serve children and families in need,” said Sonya O’Neal, vice president of programs and clinical services at Thornwell.

Thornwell is one of 14 organizations selected to receive a grant from the St. Marys United Methodist Church Foundation during the Fall 2017 Grant Cycle.

The grant provides prevention resources to families in need in Camden County, Ga. St. Marys First Presbyterian Church serves as the host church for the Building Families program in Camden County. The partnership is the first ecumenical partnership for Thornwell’s Building Families Program.
