Wade SandersWade Sanders is a little boy with a big heart.

Last year, he decided to pick an angel off the Angel Tree at his home church, Northwest Presbyterian in Atlanta, Ga.

Wade looked for someone his age and chose a child who lives at Thornwell. Wade had saved his money all year long and bought gifts for his “angel.”

This year Wade decided to pick an angel off the Angel Tree again. He looked for the same name he chose last year, and found it. Just like last year, Wade saved up his money all year long and bought gifts for the child.

The mission committee at Wade’s church heard about Wade’s good deed and asked him if he could tell his story. They wanted to tell the congregation about how Wade chooses an angel off the Angel Tree and buys gifts for the child with his own money.

Wade told his church he didn’t want them to tell his story. He wanted to tell his story himself. One Sunday, Wade got all dressed up in a coat and tie and shared his story with the congregation at Northwest Presbyterian Church.

This year, Wade wanted to see where his angel lives. He and his mother drove from Atlanta to deliver the presents to the campus in Clinton. While he was here, Wade toured the cottages and met several family teachers.

Wade loved Thornwell and said it’s a nice place to live. He said he bets lots of brothers and sisters here who play and wrestle a lot like he and his brother do.
