Sarah holds a B.A. degree in English from Appalachian State University.  With over 15 years of experience working within the non-profit industry, her experience includes building fundraising support as well as mission-driven messaging to ensure community involvement, exposure, and monetary contributions. Sarah has a proven track record of building varied donor support, including major gifts, multi-year commitments, sponsorship, annual fund, foundation/corporate support, in-kind as well as planned giving.

For the past 10 years, Sarah has focused her mission advancement role in the area of helping children and families in the child welfare, mental health, and family support communities.  Before coming to Thornwell, she was Chief Development Officer at a similar children’s home also born out of the Presbyterian Church.

Sarah is married to Brett, who is a pastor at The Cove Church in Mooresville, NC.  They have two sons, Trevor, who is in high school and Travis, who is in middle school.  Sarah enjoys hiking and watching her boys play soccer.
